PEDIATRIC SERVICES

Children experience speech and language difficulties for a variety of reasons. It’s never too early to find out if your child has a speech or language problem, and the only way to know for certain is with a speech evaluation. Here are some questions you can ask yourself as you try to decide.

  • Is your child’s speech not as clear as other children’s the same age?

  • Does your child have difficulty putting their thought into words?

  • Does your child stutter or stumble over words?

  • Can you see your child’s tongue coming forward during speech?

  • Is your child’s voice hoarse or raspy?

  • Does your child avoid social situations?

  • Does your child have difficulty following verbal directions?

  • Does your child have difficulty remembering or understanding what they read?

  • Did your child’s school determine that speech therapy isn’t necessary because your child’s speech problem does not negatively impact academics?

  • Do breathing problems for your young athlete not improve with asthma medication?

  • As a concerned parent, are you feeling overwhelmed and not sure what to do next?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, your child may benefit from a speech evaluation, and possibly therapy. The experienced pediatric speech pathologists at SpeechPath Ohio are here to help children of all ages. We want to hear your child’s story and help them on the right track to success.
